SKYWARN: Amateur Storm-Spotter Classes
These FREE classes are open to anyone who is interested in
learning more about severe weather, and becoming a SKYWARN spotter in
Minnesota. Classes are taught by Metro Skywarn instructors, who are non-NWS
meteorologists, long time storm chasers or spotters, and have been trained by
the National Weather Service. Classes use many videos and graphics to aid a
person in developing the skills necessary to storm spot both accurately and
safely. These sessions are open to anyone who is interested, and is recommended
for superintendents, competent-persons, crane-operators, safety personnel,
emergency management personnel, and amateur radio operators. Topics include:
